plus, 3 and 4....I guess you can say I've been creating like crazy!
Thank you Stampin' Up! for Fabric, Cardstock, Designers Paper and Digital Images that ALL match, yaaaayyyy! They helped me make some fun gifts for Jenny's Birthday! I hope she likes them :)

We'll be focusing on the Calendar in this post but I have to mention the Bakers Twine Holder (L) and the Credit Card Holder/ Picture Album (B). The Credit card holder was inspired by this post, sent to me by my friend Kasey.  It's yummy in person and so much cheaper then a Vera Bradley! And my sweet friend Kay brought a twine holder that she made for show 'n tell, it was SOOOO cute I had to make one, too!

Let me show you the Calendar/ Pen Holder up close

Give me a big Woo Hoo, because it's pretty and functional.  Mom sent me this idea from a local office supply store and I thought "Oh my, I could make this in MDS and it would be pretty." There's was just  basic but I loved the idea and we've been eating soup. hehehe

Here's how I used MDS to get'r done 

(did you know you can find "get'r done" in the Urban dictionary - oh how I love the south) 

 These are the 2 pages I created in MDS and printed at home. The numbers were printed on regular  paper and the main image on vanilla card stock. 

Each page design needs to measure 4 3/4 x 10 to wrap around the can and then cut them into 4 pieces.

place sticky strip along one side 

wrap the numbers first - NOT TO TIGHT

Then wrap the pretty pieces, starting at the bottom, using the lip on the can as your guide. 

"Souper" easy! LOL 

I will be making several of these for teachers but it'd make a great gift for an friend at work, too! Just toss in some coffee beans and a few pens. We'll make this at our MDS class in November!

I'm just NUTS

for MDS...but I'm sure some of you think I'm nuts for other reasons! LOL

I've always loved the sweet treat cups but it makes me sad to think of someone ripping this cute little owl apart for the sweet treat. So grab your hat, I've got a solution.....seal it with foil! As I'm sure you've noticed, the owl is filled with NUTS and not some "sweet treat", because in my house the candy would be GONE and the owl would never get photographed. Boo hoo!

 CASE it: 

This HYBRID cutie was created with digital punches. 

Shown in this months video! 

The outline was printed on cardstock and DSP, using the photo paper setting for the printer. Handheld punches were used to create his eyes, beak and the hole for the sweet treats! Finally, hand cut around the outline of the owl and the vest that was printed on cardstock. Super simple! 

Our next project was a digital punch art card. My inspiration came from www.mydigitalstudio.net where I saw a sweet page created by Amber Meadows using punches! 

Our last project was inspired by Erica Shaw also on the mds website. Her page was created for Fall so I tweaked the colors, added a quick ADVANCED technique 

(creating 2 color stamps, sown in the video) and it was done!

BIG Projects for Thursday's class

using the Big Shot, Baby!


Last month you all fell in love with a few of my sweet friend Lisa's projects and so I promised we'd make them! Now,  I usually do 2 projects with one die but this month we'll be using 2 of the dies in the mini catalog (get them before the end of the month, you just never know what will return in the big catalog) the Petal Cone die and Fun Flowers.


Here is a preview but colors will vary because I only have so many button colors!

The 2nd project is a fabric bookmark using the Fun flower die and our Springtime Vintage Fabric line!

She's so creative!

I just had to show off how creative my sweet little girl is, well I guess she's not so little anymore, she'll be in middle school next year. *sigh*

It was "Flower for your Teachers" last Thursday and Erika wanted to make flowers.  So this was her design (COMPLETELY, she asked for NO help). Are they not cute?  Little flower pots using the cupcake die!!! She filled the cupcake holder with rice and stuck the pencils in the rice. She wanted to spray paint the rice brown, like dirt, but she ran out of time.

She created 2 sets, one for her everyday teacher and one for her target teacher. 

Here's an up close view of the pencils. 

Erika used the large oval punch to create lots of petals and then she attached them to the pencil with sticky strip and glue dots. I love how she added the ribbon "leaves" to finish it off. I'm super proud of her and I know one day she be an awesome demonstrator. I think I'm going to have her design a card for my next month's card class!

11 yr old Valentines

No, these are not pictures from 11 years ago *wink*

My sweet little girl, is 11 years old and she loves to stamp. 

The last 2 years I've come up with a design for her Valentines class treats, she copies that and adds her own twist. Last year she made them with the milk carton die (see them here). This year she use the heart shaped cups, from the kits I was selling, and had a blast. 

She's my mother's child. I'm such a "slap it together" girl and my mom wants it just right. I wont call her names, but she want's it perfect. hehehe Erika is the same way. She actually said, "they aren't perfect. I have to sand them all". ARE YOU KIDDING? She's 11 and they looked just fine to me before she sanded them! 

The yellow one on the right was my design and the ones on the right were hers. Too cute hugh? 

But 28 of them was not enough, she needed CUPCAKES filled with candy for her teachers, too.

I think she did a great job but then, I guess I'm a little biased.

In the nick of time

I’m going to post this early because I KNOW my family does not look at my blog :)

I created some calendars for Christmas gifts this year, great gift and I only had to make it once, and print it a bunch! I used the new calendar template that SU released this week and I had to HURRY to get it done because it had to be sent to the printer today! I love the idea of a template but then I go and have to get crazy. It would have taken me minutes to throw in a few current pictures, but NOT me.

I had this crazy great idea to go back several years and collect pictures so we could see the kids growth. What a trip down memory lane, I know the kids were tired of me squealing and clapping my hands at each old picture I ran across but they are just too stinking cute, if I do say so myself!

Here’s the finished project and I ordered one for me in an 8x8 soft cover book so I can use it as my planner this year! I’ve only included the Feb calendar page because once you’ve seen one you’ve pretty much seen them all. I didn’t add anything fancy.
