I'm so excited!!!!

and I just can't hide it (sing along).....

But first here's the card I promised yesterday.

Embedded Embossing - give's the look of patterned, texture paper! And it's so simple!

The white piece on the front of the card is 4"x3 1/2" - we punched out stars and glued them on with the glue stick (making sure to get the edges of the stars) Then ran it through the Big Shot with a texture folder....it's just that easy! Tip: the glue sticks are the best way to attach something that has been textured with a folder. If you want to be bold, you can add several layers of punches to the paper and then still run it through.

Gotta show the inside of the card, too.

Ok, so I can't HIDE it, any longer.....drum roll please!

I'm hosting a Weekend Getaway where I SPOIL you rotten!
Are you intrigued? Click below for all the royal details.
50 hours of doing whatever craft you want, with your best friends!
We all need to be spoiled, so come on, join the fun!
Mark you calendars for June 10th, 11th and 12th

Under the covers!

With all my Heart! Ok, so I hope the title didn't scare you away. *wink*

I used 2 hot techniques on this card! The quilted look paired with embedded embossing, to create the under the covers feel I was after. The Quilted Technique is the weekly tutorial at SplitcoastStampers.com and I was truly inspired! I hope you are too.

Look at all the texture! Loving the little vanilla hearts embossed into it, yay!

It was so stinking easy - so here's a quick tutorial and I'd love to hear from you if you make one.

The card base is a 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 crumb cake (I know - but it's my favorite color and I just had to)
Grabbed for my 1 1/4" square punch and some yummy Love Letter DSP and punched 10 in Red and 6 in black.

Laid it out on the table to create the shape first. I've flipped the heart shape to vanilla in this picture so you could see it better, sorry it's sideways (I'm still looking for a blog tool for my mac that edits photos in it, any one have any ideas?)

Cut a 5 x 5 base to layer the shapes on. I used the 2 way glue because it's my favorite! Start in the bottom corner and work your way up the side. Then go to the next row. If you have any little pieces that hang over, just trim them off.

The Embedded Embossing is just layering before you run it all through the embossing folders. Here I've added the 3 hearts on the side. I know it's not so pretty right this second....but you saw the finished product, it rocks!

Since it's bigger then the folder you'll need to run it through the Big Shot twice.  Just leave some hang out of the side and run it again with just the little side in the next time through (see below).

Trimmed just about an 1/8" off all 4 sides because I wanted to see more of the vanilla mat I was going to add to the card. Then I sponged it with Soft Suede Classic Ink - That's what makes it POP!!!

I attached a Big Vanilla Button and some Chantilly Lace (I can hear my dad signing in my head) Ribbon with glue dots. The banner was stamped with Cherry Cobbler with the sentiment for the "with all my heart" stamp set.

Enjoy and I hope you'll case it for your loved ones!

Scrapbooking class – join us Dec 12th 5pm – email me to RSVP

Here’s a quick tutorial from last month Scrapbook class, we did a Big Shot technique to add a great decorative edge.

November’s Layout:

DSC_1061DSC_1062

To create this decorative edge:

Take a 2”x 12” strip of Cardstock, fold it in half, then fold the 2 outside edges into meet the middle fold - creating a W.

DSC_1063

Next place the W on the Top Note Die so the folds are all inside the lines of the die and the top edge hangs over the short side of the top note. Run through the Big Shot! Important tip: When you take remove it from the die slowly pull the top layer out first and then each additional layer so you don’t rip the cardstock! Take a bone folder and rub out the folds in the cardstock.

DSC_1065

Next, the 8 1/2” border with the rounded ends:

DSC_1069

Cut an 11” x 2” piece of cardstock and fold it in half. Lay it over the Top Note die so that the folded end of the cardstock is inside the lines and dashes and the open end hangs over the end of the die.  Believe it or not, this ends up being 8 1/2 inches long when you open it, if it’s placed on the die right up to the dashes!

Oh my, look at how dirty my front windows are, I guess I’ve been too busy stampin’ hehehe Do you see the dirty spots, glaring in the pictures?

Gift giving is my favorite part

of Stampin! That is what drew me in 8 years ago. I love the idea of giving a gift the recipient KNOWS is special - because you made it. Plus, let’s be real…you would never hand some one a chocolate bar and call it a gift. LOL

But when you “DRESS IT UP” it’s inexpensive and just plain perfect!

Now, we will be doing much better then a wrapped candy bar at Gifts Galore 2010! Come create some amazing gifts on Oct 2nd 2010.

This is the 8th year, my team has held this even, and it just gets better every time! The new format boasts presentations, hundreds of displays, card swaps, contests, prizes, catered lunch by Sweet Tomatoes, stress free projects, and so much more!

Product of the week extended – project 3

I'll share the last two projects using the Large- Kind Thoughts Brocade Stencil, this week.
Many of you made these with me at Christmas but this frame would be a perfect gift for any occasion! Mothers day is coming up { what a great hand made gift } with a photo or a poem that tells her what a great mother she is!
    DSC_0069
    DSC_0070
The frame was painted with a wet sponge and Close to Cocoa re-inker….once the frame was VERY DRY, I added texture paste to the stencil. You spread it on like icing and then pull the stencil straight up. It needs to dry about an hour. Then sponge the white texture paste with a dry sponge and CRAFT Close to Cocoa re-inker.
The Texture Paste is washable so just hand wash the stencil…it may look ugly, if you use it a ton like I have, but it works beautifully every time!

I love the texture of this card! The stencil was sponged with Whisper White Craft ink and then embossed with Winter White Embossing Powder. The color under the stencil was sponged –right over the top of the texture plate image! How cool is that?

Guest Designer: Lana Brooks - Simple Birthday Thanks

I am excited to introduce Lana. She is a current customer who loves her family, stamping, scrapbooking and photography.  I hope she will start a blog with her AMAZING scrapbooks. She fills a 12 x12 album in about a MONTH!
After our club meeting she had to have the Simple Thanks Birthday Stamp…check out her art work!

love the cupcake wrapper done with the crimper!
At first glance this stamp seems to be for the kids but look again, the 1st card could be used for any guy.
TIP:  When mounting this stamp use a craft knife and cut out the words form the wrapper. Place them on the oppisite side of your wood block – creating a double sided stamp and you can add the words only when you want them!
